The Juniper Tree is a Brothers Grimm fable about a young boy with a stepmother who treats him cruelly. His stepmother eventually kills him and cooks him into a stew and feeds him to his father. The boy's bones are buried beneath a juniper tree, which becomes possessed by his spirit. The tree helps a number of characters before bringing the boy back to life and punishing his wicked stepmother.
